Falafel n Hummus

Falafel and Hummus
Ingredients
For Falafel:
400 g garbanzo beans (soaked)
½ cup onion (finely chopped)
½ cup refined flour
2 tsp garlic cloves (minced)
2 tbsp  olive oil
½ tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp red chili powder
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp parsley (finely chopped)
For Hummus:
300 g garbanzo beans (boiled)
4 tbsp lemon juice
4 tbsp tahini paste
4 garlic cloves (minced)
4 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp cumin powder
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp water
Preparation
1. In a blender, add the lemon juice and tahini paste, blend together for a minute
2. Add garlic, olive oil, cumin powder and salt, blend until fully mixed
3. Add garbanzo beans and blend it into a smooth consistency
4. If the mixture seems a little lumpy, add water to help make it smooth
5. Place soaked garbanzo beans, onion, flour, garlic, salt, black pepper, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, baking powder and parsley into a food processor, grind into rough paste
6. The consistency should not be a smooth paste, but it should still hold together
7. Refrigerate the mixture so it sets a little bit, before frying
8. Take 2 tbsp of mixture and roll it into a ball, flatten slightly to create the falafel
9. Fry the falafels in hot oil until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side
10. Drain excess oil on paper towels
11. Put the hummus in a bowl, make a small well in the middle, pour some some olive oil in
12. Sprinkle a little bit of paprika over the top, garnish falafels with finely chopped parsley
13. Gobble, gobble, gobble!
