Karachi fruit biscuits
Ingredients
1. All purpose flour - 1 cup
2. Custard powder - 2 - 1/2 tbsp
3. Milk powder - 2 tbsp( optional)
4. Baking powder -1 tsp
5. Butter (room temperature) - 1/2 cup
6. Powdered sugar -1/3 cup ( for more sweetness add 1/2 cup)
7. Cardamom powder - 1 pinch
8. Tutti frutti - 3 tbsp (can add more as per taste)
9. Rose essence - 1 tsp( can add any fruit essence as per your choice)
10. Milk - if needed very less
Nuts are optional can add any of your choice add with tutti frutti.
Steps
1. Sieve the all purpose flour, custard powder, baking powder, milk powder mix well and keep aside.
2. In bowl take butter and powdered sugar and beat until soft n fluffy gets creamy smooth look.
3. Add rose essence , cardamom powder, tutti fruttiand mix.
4. Slowly add the flour mix in parts and bring together. Do not knead dough too much.
5. Crumble mixture will be formed slowly try to form dough and sprinkle little milk if needed around 2-3 tbsp.
6. Roll the dough in cylindercal shape and roll into plastic wrap tightly.
7. Flatten the sides of the roll and refrigerate for 2-3 hrs.
8. Remove dough from fridge will be firm exactly how its needed.
9. Cut into thick slices 1/2inch wide using sharp knife.
10. Preheat oven at 350 degree fahrenheit.
11. Gently place the cut cookies on baking sheet on parchment paper keep distance between them.
12. Total bake time approximately for 12 - 15 mins can be more or less based on oven.
13. Flip the cookies gently (they are delicate) after 8 - 10 mins.
14. Biscuits will be light golden in color.
15. Take then out of oven will soft at that point cool in tray itself for 5 mins.
16. Transfer to net rack for cooling will harden and become crunchy.
Note: For baking know your oven and do not over bake cookies might become too hard
